All Things Mystical; Mantras, Malas, & Minerals
Over the years, my affinity for developing my spirituality has greatly evolved and become a very crucial part of my beliefs, healing process, and understanding of the delicacy of life. Although I was raised in a traditional Catholic upbringing, my beliefs shifted when I was first introduced to “The Secret” in 2006. When things are feeling out of sorts, it's important to realign yourself.
The universe directly responds to your energy and thoughts. Thinking positive thoughts is one thing, but mastering in believing and feeling the visions you have is the only way they will come to fruition. Often we hear people say they want a more fulfilling career or they wish to have a significant amount of savings, but they’re just producing statements, and have no thoughts or feelings backing it up. Or, on the flipside, someone who focuses all their energy on not wanting to be in debt, but the cycle continues because debt is where they are emotionally tied, and the universe only gives you what you currently are attracting.
An encouraging breakthrough for me was discovering that you have the power within you to create the life you want to live. We were not placed on this earth to work and pay bills. Find what compels you to wake up everyday smiling. Vision boards are a great way to live in a constant state of attraction. Cut out inspirational images that you truly want and believe you will have them in the future. Place this board somewhere you will see it every single day to remind yourself that you are worthy and will have all the things that you have envisioned.
Back in 2011, I created a vision board and I can honestly say, everything I placed on the board and believed would happen, I received. I applied for a position where there were over 100 applicants, but I felt in my heart more than anything I was worthy of this promotion and I would get it, and sure enough I got the amazing call offering me the job. Please don’t underestimate the power of the law of attraction. Use it to your advantage and finally live a life worth living.
As the years went on, I started to incorporate other rituals into my life to increase the positivity and energy around me. I believe in protecting myself by wearing evil eye & hamsa amulets, saging my apartment on a regular basis to clear any remaining negative energy, and collecting crystals to enhance specific areas of my life. If you are interested in channeling your spiritual guidance but are unsure of where to begin, don’t fret.
Some essential crystals to have in your bag are: amethyst - the stone that brings calmness and protection, rose quartz - the powerful crystal that promotes self-love, and citrine which helps cleanse. These will kick off your healing, but I truly advise to go to a spiritual shop and let the crystals speak to you. Energy and attraction will emit from these gemstones and grab your attention. Then, you’ll read about the crystal and the specific properties, and it will feel as if the stone called out to you to assist with particular strife and dilemmas that may be going on in your current world.
I also developed a strong pull towards astrology. So much, that I even delayed the release of my blog until Mercury Retrograde was over! There is so much more to it than just a star sign. When diving into our birth charts, you get a greater understanding of what makes you uniquely different from your fellow sign. To get acquainted, I suggest picking up “The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need” by Joanna Martine Woolfolk. This book is packed with knowledge, yet easy to understand and follow. If you are interested in a complete birth chart analysis, but do not want to put in the tedious amount of work you can go to my shopping tab and I will personally do yours for you from start to finish.
I appreciate physical items that can serve as a reminder. I recently had a beautiful Mala bracelet made and hand selected the beads, stones, and charms. These beads, often seen as wrap bracelets or necklaces, consist of 108 beads. They help during meditation, chanting mantras, or simply just prompting one to refocus on their inner being and intentions. Or my Siddhartha Buddha, that greets me every time I step out on to my deck. It sets the tone for a peaceful outdoor space. In addition to tangible items, reading has helped transform my thoughts and feelings. It is probably the easiest way for me to bring myself back to a positive mindset.
I enjoy being grounded in the sense that everything is controlled by universal law. Each and every one of us has the capability to dictate how certain situations are going to turn out for us through the power of thought, gratitude, and energy. I challenge you to live your daily life conducive to this belief and watch as all the magical possibilities unfold for you.
