Cal Newport: "Deep Work is The Killer App of The Knowledge Economy"
This podcast is a MUST LISTEN! Probably one of the best motivational snippets I’ve heard in a long time from none other than Mr. Sean Croxton. As an author, I often would self-isolate during crucial moments of my book writing process. I found the amount of writing I could get done in just a few undistracted hours was far more productive and valuable than what I could achieve in a week with constant interruptions from social media, emails, texts, and unwatched episodes on Netflix. I have now committed to being unavailable between 11am-1pm for my DEEP WORK.
We are all suffering from Attention residue! We don’t realize those 2-minute distractions drastically affect our productivity. By incorporating a deep work timeframe, you are allowed to work the same amount of hours as your counterparts, but able to produce much more just by working in full cognitive capacity.
