TPP Book Review
Meghan Barrett founder of All You Mama, focuses on empowering moms to make their self-care a priority. She recently wrote a review of The Parenthood Pendulum & I’m beyond grateful for her honest approach regarding motherhood allowing other women to know they are not alone!
Deciding whether or not to become a parent isn’t often a topic of conversation. The Parenthood Pendulum by Ashton Saldana @soulaceseeker takes the topic head on.
I believe we do talk about it because it is such a source of judgement. People are constantly judged on their decision:
No children - judged
1 child - judged
Having children too young - judged
Having children too old - judged
“Too many” children - judged
Then after you have kids there’s even more.
So if you aren’t truly confident in yourself and your decisions, this topic often leaves people feeling upset, attacked and misunderstood.
I’ve never been one to hide my true feelings. I’ll give it to you straight.
Parenting is f@&%ing hard. I mean I knew it would be difficult, but you really don’t know until you’re balls deep in it.
I respect anyone’s decision to either become or not become a parent. It is a personal choice.
I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but that doesn’t make the job any easier.
Ashton did an excellent job of not only providing her perspective, but that of parents and non-parents.
Be honest with yourself and your decisions. If you truly believe in something, stand by it.
