Oh Italia, how I've missed you!

When I arrived in Firenze, a sense of euphoria overcame me. It felt like the city said, “bentornata!”

As I step out my doorstep, I’m greeted by wobbly tables lining the cobblestone streets. I have always dreamt of having a bar right beneath my apartment. One where the staff would become quickly acquainted with me due to my frequent visits. I sit quietly observing the last of the summer’s tourists and locals returning to the city from their month-long vacanza. The energy seems entirely different compared to the previous year. No more minimum number of occupants or mandatory masks in this unbearable heat. After the jet lag subsides (ugh) I look forward to the many experiences ahead and sharing them with you.

THIS WEEK :

If you are in Florence, The Florentine is hosting a pitch party! Come share your ideas with the editors!

The last remaining summer events are happening this week as well. I will be heading to Villa San Michele, a beautiful luxury hotel situated on the hillside of Fiesole. Wine expert Filippo Bartolotta will be hosting a special event, “Colours of Lambrusco” in their charming garden.

This weekend the Decibel Open Air Festival will take place at Parco dell Cascine bringing electronic music lovers from all over the world.

Lastly, I’ll be concluding my weekend with the 15th-anniversary party for InterNations at Forte di Belvedere. Looking forward to reuniting with old friends and making new connections.
